In June 2021, the FDA approved Semaglutide for chronic weight management in adults. When used in combination with a healthy diet and exercise, it’s highly effective at driving healthy and sustainable weight loss. Semaglutide is essentially a string of amino acids and works to decreases blood sugar levels and suppress appetite through once weekly injection.
The Aesthetic Concierge Weight Wellness Process:
First, you will have a virtual consultation with Dr. Blum where he will go over your medical history, blood work, weight loss goals, what to expect and how to inject. The consultation appointment fee is $950 and includes your first five injections of the Semaglutide Rx. If you live in Charlotte, we offer in person consultations for $970.
Following your initial appointment, we’ll handle fulfilling your Semaglutide prescription with our pharmacy partner. Your first prescription will be delivered to you and is included in the initial consultation fee.
As you progress in our program, you will receive check-ins from Dr. Blum and team every 7 to 10 days to see how you are feeling, how you’re progressing and what your experience is like on the medication. You will also have direct access to our team should you have questions or side effects. All messages are responded to in an average of 2 hours.
After the first 5 injections, it is $579 per five weeks to remain in our weight wellness program. This fee covers your Semaglutide prescription and daily access to our healthcare team.

If you do not have recent blood work, we can coordinate lab work for you. Simply book the Weight Wellness Blood Work Labs on our booking platform and someone from our team will be in touch with next steps within 12 hours.

How much weight do you lose?
The studies show that the mean change in body weight from baseline to week 68 was −17.4%. How much each patient lose can vary, this really depends on the root cause of your weight gain. On average our patients have exceeded the studies. Patients that have spent 30 weeks in our program have an average loss of 17.4%. We have some patients that have experienced up to 30% weight loss.
How long until I lose weight?
We follow an incremental dosing protocol. Loss can begin within the first month on these lower doses or you can expect loss to kickstart as you escalate up in dosing. Patients arrive at the therapeutic dose of the medication at week 17. The average loss that we should expect to see is 1% of body weight on average per week. This will vary by client, but Dr. Blum can help with specific expectations and goals in relation to this.
What symptoms will I experience?
Not everyone will have side effects, but two that we see are nausea and constipation. We can treat both in a variety of ways.
Does the injection hurt?
You can feel the injection, however it does not really hurt. It's a subcutaneous injection with a small needle.
Who is your pharmacy partner?
We interviewed and vetted our pharmacy partner which is a 503B pharmacy facility out of Texas. The FDA regulates 503B outsourcing facilities by inspecting them and holding them to high quality standards, similar to large drug manufacturers. Additionally, the FDA determines which drugs can be compounded by these facilities. The active pharmaceutical ingredients that outsourcing facilities use to compound medications also come from FDA-registered manufacturers.
