Does it Hurt? Does it work?
These are the two questions we most often get from prospective patients.
Does it Hurt?
When you see the needle you will use for your injections, it is much less intimidating than you are imagining. Please note: *this is not the actual medication*
You may or may not feel the injection because of the type of syringe. This is a subcutaneous injection -- not an intramuscular injection (like most vaccines and typically what people think of when they think of an injection. Typically subcutaneous injections do not even feel like a “pinch" and they tend to be far less painful than intramuscular injections because the needles are smaller and do not have to push through as much tissue. The bottom line: it will not be as painful as a flu shot.
Ultimately everyone has different thresholds for pain, but 99 out of 100 people typically say “Wow that was pretty easy!” after their first injection.
Does it work?
Yes, without any hubris at all, it does work!
