Wes Turner is sharing his microdosing journey! Here is his his two month update in his own words.
And if you know someone looking to lower their cholesterol, share this.
I’m not the typical person you think of when you think of a GLP-1 user (some people ask if it’s ozempic when I share that I’m on one), but when I saw the positive impact that a GLP-1 had on my wife’s health, and I talked to Dr. Blum, I knew there was an opportunity to improve mine. I’m a healthy guy — a two time marathon runner (shout out to the NYC and Charlotte marathons!) and I work out with a few days a week. I would say I’m a 90% super healthy eater with the occasional splurge.I’ve never been overweight and throughout my adult life I’ve been 6’1” and 183 lbs with a normal bmi of 24.1 .Here is my 2 month update:
1. My A1C is out of the prediabetic range for the first time in 10 years. It’s been as high as 6.1, but hasn’t dropped below 5.7 since 2015. I’m finally back to a “normal” A1C with a 5.6 from my most recent blood work this month.
2. After an all time high total cholesterol in 2024, I was able to lower my cholesterol 17 points. I still have some improvement to see, but I’m very close to being back into a normal range which I haven’t been in since before 2022. Dr. Blum expects it will continue to drop.
3. I actually didn’t expect to lose weight on a microdose because I was focused on the non weight loss benefits as my primary driver of why I wanted to do it. I did actually lose 6 lbs over the last 2 months — most of which I attribute to inflammation. It feels better and lighter.
4. I have no side effects — I didn’t experience a major decrease food noise and find that my appetite is mostly the same. I have, however noticed that I’m doing less mindless snacking (which I probably wasn’t hungry for anyway). I can still put down a whole bowl of my favorite pasta or a good steak so my appetite is still totally normal.
5. I’ve noticed that I’m drinking a little less. I’m not a big drinker in general, but I typically would have had 4 - 5 drinks spread out in a week before. Now I exclusive have maybe 2 - 3 on a weekend. Not a big change, but noteworthy. I could likely have less, but I love to have a social drink.
Stay tuned for more insights as we continue on this journey with Wes!
