Next up on The Maintenance List, we are thrilled to share Amelia Hiller! The owner of Hiller Media Group in Austin, Texas, Amelia views health and wellness as something not separate from everyday life – “it is a lifestyle” to her. She believes in loose routines with plenty of wiggle room, making space for movement, good food, time outside, and the people she loves. Here’s her rundown for maintenance:
Daily:
- I keep my skincare pretty simple and consistent. My daily favorites are Clarins Double Serum, a good SPF, and lots of hydration.
- Food-wise, I focus on water, protein, and fiber throughout the day. I don’t count calories, and I always leave room for dessert!
- I love getting in the sauna daily!
Weekly:
- Once a week, I take my microdose of a GLP-1. I view my GLP-1 as part of my long-term maintenance because it’s been so helpful beyond just weight loss. After struggling with my weight and PCOS symptoms for years, I finally feel strong, healthy, clear-headed, and like myself again. I’ve fully titrated down to a microdose, and for me, continuing at this level is about maintaining how good I feel and supporting the progress I’ve made.
- Movement is a big part of my week, but I like enough variety that it never feels too rigid. I usually do 4–6 workouts a week, mostly Pilates with some weights mixed in.
- I walk with my weighted vest 5–6 times a week and use my vibration plate a few times a week.
- And my maintenance list isn’t just workouts and wellness treatments. Time with friends and family is just as important, along with getting plenty of time in the sun.
Monthly:
- I keep up with and swear by monthly dermaplaning.
Quarterly:
Every few months, I make time for a few of my favorite treatments:
- Facials
- Lymphatic massage
- Laser hair removal
Yearly:
These are typically the less glamorous maintenance routines, but important things too — things like: skin checks, doctor appointments, and teeth cleanings.
My Go-To Meals
I like meals that are filling, flavorful, and easy to load up with protein and veggies. A few favorites:
- Taco bowls with sweet potato, ground beef, veggies, and cottage cheese
- Red curry with lots of veggies, bone broth, and protein
- Greek bowls with grilled veggies and meat
- Steak night
- Tortilla soup
My Go-To Stress Relief
Daily movement, prayer, quality time with my husband, and sunshine. For me, wellness is about building a lifestyle I actually enjoy, routines that make me feel good without being so rigid that they get in the way of living my life.
